  Roger Bart

Roger Bart has a back problem which has temporarily forced him out of Young Frankenstein. However, he's responding well to treatment, according to a press statement, and should be back in the show shortly. For the moment, his role of Dr. Frankenstein, is in the hands of his understudy, Matthew LaBanca.

Bart, a Broadway veteran, has appeared in Triumph of Love, The Producers and The Frogs. He won a Tony Award for You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Young Frankenstein is based on Mel Brooks' 1974 movie of the same name. It has music by Brooks and a book by Thomas Meehan and Brooks. It's directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman. It's in previews now at the Hilton Theatre, with an official opening on November 8. The cast includes Sutton Foster as Inga, Megan Mullally as Elizabeth and Shuler Hensley as the Monster.
