The baker is turning into an inn keeper: Translation: Chip Zien, who played the Baker in the original cast of Into the Woods, will be playing M. Thenardier for 10 weeks in Les Miserables, starting July 29. He'll be replacing original star Gary Beach,who is taking a leave of absence. Zien has also been on Broadway in All Over Town, The Suicide, Falsettos, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Grand Hotel. Off-Broadway, he's been in March of the Falsettos, Falsettoland, Isn't It Romantic and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, among others.

Other cast changes of note include Drew Sarich and Ben Crawford, alternating in the role of Javert, from now until July 6 (replacing Ben Davis) and then, in turn, being replaced by Robert Hunt after July 6; and Megan McGinnis into the role of Eponine, starting now, replacing Mandy Bruno.

Les Miserables stars Alexander Gemignani as Valjean, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Max Von Essen as Enjoras, Ali Ewoldt as Cosette. Adam Jacobs as Marius and Ann Harada as Mme. Thenardier.
