  Jerry Mathers

Old sitcom heroes never die. Case in point: One Jerry Mathers, the adorable tyke, who played the title role in the 1950s television comedy Leave it to Beaver. He'll be joining the cast of Hairspray as Wilbur Turnblad, for a three-month stint, beginning June 5.

Mr. Mathers played Beaver ( don't call me Meat) Cleaver, younger son of Ward and June Cleaver. The show ran from 1957 to 1963. After that, he appeared in television series, such as Batman, The War at Home and Diagnosis Murder. He's also done professional speaking on health issues.

Now, if we can only find where the Beav's, elder brother Wally( Tony Dow) is hanging out.
