  Jonathan Crombie

The Drowsy Chaperone will have a new old friend sitting in the chair, starting August 21. Jonathan Crombie will play Man in Chair, replacing John Glover. The Canadian Crombie played the role earlier this year. And he will perform in the national tour starting in October.

The Man in Chair role was originally performed by co-author Bob Martin. Martin also played the part in the recent London production that played at the Novello. That show had a short run, closing August 4. Not to be discouraged, Martin will play Man in Chair on the initial leg of the national tour in Toronto.

As for Crombie, his stage work includes playing Gangster #2 in the Toronto production of The Drowsy Chaperone, Dishwashers, This Can't Be Love and Godspell.
