Published July 13 2007

Heading into its 11th year(in November), Chicago will be the show where R&B singer Brian McKnight makes his Broadway bow.The venue is the Ambassador Theatre; and the date is October 8. He'll play the role of suave attorney Billy Flynn, until November 18. Prior to Broadway, McKnight will hone his chops as Flynn, appearing with the national touring company in a two-week gig at the Warner Theatre in D.C.

Chicago features a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb. It's directed by Walter Bobbie. And Ann Reinking handles the choreography.

McKnight, a Grammy-nominated singer, has plied his trade for 15 years. He's released 10 R&B/ pop albums in that time, seven of which have reached platinum or multi-platinum. Currently, he hosts The Brian McKnight Morning Show on radio station KTWV in Los Angeles.

At this time, the Chicago cast includes Harry Hamlin, Lisa Rinna, Brenda Braxton, Rob Bartlett, and Roz Ryan, among others.
