at the Al Hirschfeld

By Roger B. Harris
Published March 20 2008

  David Hyde Pierce/Joan Marcus

Curtains will be bringing down the curtain for the last time at the Al Hirschfeld on Sunday June 29. At that point it will have played 26 previews and 511 regular performances.

The show is directed by Scott Ellis, with a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb and a book by Rupert Holmes, based on an original book by Peter Stone.

Curtains stars David Hyde Pierce (who won the Tony for Best Actor in a Musical), Debra Monk, Karen Ziemba, Erin Davie, Jason Danieley and Edward Hibbert, among others.

Our New York Theater News reviewer said: When all is said and done, Curtains is a rather sentimental valentine to a life in the theater. Still you're likely to fall in love -or at least very much in like-with a show as entertaining as this one."
