SYMPATHY JONES
at Julia Miles Theatre

A VOTE FOR WORLD PEACE
By Roger B. Harris
Published July 24 2007

  Kate Shindle

Kate Shindle, Miss America, class of 1998, will star as the title character in Sympathy Jones, come September 24-October 4. It's the New York Musical Theatre Festival(NYMF) and the venue will be the Julia Miles Theatre.

The musical deals with an overqualified receptionist at a world-famous intelligence agency. The lady in question dreams of working for the brotherhood as a super spy( this really must be a work of fiction). The production has music and lyrics by Masi Asare and a book by Brooke Pierce. Pulling the strings will be director Sarah Gurfield. Dance numbers will be handled by Christine O'Grady.

Right now, Ms. Shindle is starring in Legally Blonde at the Palace on Broadway. She's also appeared on Broadway in Jekyll and Hyde and Cabaret. Other Bway gigs include A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Woman Upstairs.
