at the Theatre Chatelet

Published March 6 2009

Leslie Caron will play the role of of MMe Armfeldt in a rare Parisian production of A Little Night Music to open Feb. 2010, at the Theatre Chatelet. Lambert Wilson, an alumnus of the 1995 National Theatre production of A Little Night Music will appear in the Paris version as Fredrik Egerman.

The production will be performed in English for a limited run and marks an unusual outing for Stephen Sondheim in France, where his work is seldom performed. Word has it that Jeanne Moreau was also considered for the part originated by Hermione Gingold but the role in the end went to another living legend, Caron.
